Urban Exploration #12: Abandoned Farm House In The Middle Of Industrial Zone

This farm house built in the 1930's is from an era that the area it is in was all farm land. Now it is the last remaining glimpse from that time. Now it is surrounded by factories and heavy industry.

I have checked the house every time that I'm near it, but had never seen it open. I was worried that it would end up being demolished before I got the chance. But when I checked it yesterday, there was an opening. I hopped in and instantly was pleased by some of the remaining wall paper and the decay.

In several areas the ceiling on the main floor was decayed to the point of collapse. Every room on the main floor was empty with heavy decay (especially peeling paint).

Seeing that the second floor may not be accessible because of the decay, I decided to check out the basement first. The stairs going down were sketchy as hell!

Once in the small room of a basement there was this old furnace with some wooden shelves beside it with filters on it.

In the floor boards there was the usual (for that era) ceramic fittings for the hydro, but then there was something I had never seen in a house before, pressure gauges on the pipes.

I made my way back to the main floor, and it was time to try the second floor. The stairs going up were very decayed but much more stable. When I got up them I found a room with a second room off of it. I was a little surprised that they were all that was up there.

The history and decay in this last of its kind farm house was amazing! I did shoot video of the location, stay tuned for that.
