On the far northwest tip of the continental United States (in a bioregion many of us call Cascadia), there lies a point called Cape Flattery. Here in the Salish Sea the orcas play, and those wishing to sail into the Strait of Juan de Fuca can turn 'round the point and enter the Puget Sound. Here the wind leaves its indelible marks on the landscape, and the trees find their unique beauty from it.
This photo was taken without any special lens distortion--just a standard wide angle lens. A 10-stop ND filter was used for the long exposure. The camera was a Nikon d7000.
