Yes so the "L" plates on front and back mean that the rider is a Learner, it means they only have a provisional licence, in the UK we have something called a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training). Its a days worth of training, and once completed you are entitled to ride a 125cc capacity motorbike with "L" plates, however you are not allowed to carry pillion or use motorways. I still have L plates on front and back but im doing my A2 licence next month. I might do a post on UK Motorcycle licence laws, so that people outside the UK can understand the different licences and tests etc.
