Red tones can impart a particular type of feeling to a photo. Red is a striking colour and can express a certain sensuality. I feel it becomes all the more powerful if we combine it with strong shadows as we associate both these things with the night.
In this photo I love that very interplay of shadows and red tones.
This was taken with a single gridded beauty dish at the front. This helps to create the very strong shadows and the prominent highlights.
