A Walk on the Mountain in Pictures

in photography •  7 years ago

After a disappointing morning at the lawn bowls club I suggested to my bestest half that we go out and get some fresh air. Now yesterday she ran a very tough 27 kilometre trail run over mountain peaks so I was half expecting her to say no... but @fempower is anything except lazy. Here are some pictures of our outing.

High up and thudding heart ..... already

Shout out to @traciyork .... do I qualify for the Sunday sports photo???

Recapturing my youth... was pretty damn good fun

taalmonument.jpg

Taal Monument seen from a lower viewpoint .... and by now a welcome sight.... be still my beating heart

We came across two amazing plants we had never seen before, and that is saying something as we are frequently outdoors.

Any clues as to what these are .... I would love to hear. They are the size of a golf ball and the texture is indescribable, something between silk and pollen

moonrocks.jpg

The other one was recognisable as a mushroom ... stunning

Fly Agaric - apparently poisonous and well known for hallucinogenic properties

I did not know that.... a family member googled it for me.

@Fempower and me having a photo shootout .... I won.... only because I had a fancy digital camera

Anyway, thanks for reading and the continued support.....

Namaste!!

LOL! Yes, I think you should take another action photo like that, and post it for Julian's contest this Saturday. I'm sure it would be a winner!

Just about to hit the hay, but wanted to share this link with you first - I believe that mystery fungi is a giant puffball -

https://patch.com/new-jersey/eastbrunswick/bp--puffballs-and-other-mushroom-fun

(yes, it's a US link, but in my internet meanderings, I saw it also occurs in SA).

waves hello to @fempower

Catch up more tomorrow!

Hey, great stuff finding out about the 'puffball' .... So that was actually a historic moment when Puffer met Puffball ....hmmmm

LOL! Good point, and I'm happy I was able to solve the mystery. I'd heard about puffballs before in a FB foraging group, but haven't seen one in person. I'm totally jelly. 😊

Nice picture @themagus
