Wow beautiful creature, although. This is not a butterfly, it is a moth. They are nocturnal, and eat things like dead leaves, rotting bark, and if they get in your house they will eat your clothes.

Yea, they are pretty docile when there is daylight. You can find them but usually they won't fly around unless bothered.
