Now, a lot of you Blockchain Bugs will be clamoring to get to San Francisco and while the tech community of Canada seems to congregate around Waterloo (Research in Motion, hey remember Blackberry?) and Toronto, the West Coast is the best coast and my girlfriend dragged me to her homeland where the weather is a little more temperate all year round. All photos shot with a Canon 60D and Sigma 24-70 2.8.
This is the brand new V2V (Victoria to Vancouver or vice versa) Luxury Ferry. It takes twice as long and costs 5 times as much, but there are fewer people on board and its downtown to downtown. Notice the lovely aboriginal art adorning it. Locals give it a year before it's bust just like every other ferry forced to compete with the BC Ferries.
!
The aforementioned BC Ferry. Not that bad at all!
Driftwood at the Breakwater in Victoria. These are whole trees that fell off the logging boats that had to wash up somewhere.
A Killer Whale sculpture in Vancouver where we disembarked the V2V(think free willy). Many people pay a fortune to go on whale watching expeditions but we passed on the opportunity.
Pier 32 in Vancouver on Granville Island (not an island). Sort of a farmers market, artisans spot, home of Emily Carr University, and the Granville Island Craft Brewery. We met a couple of ladies from Atlanta while drinking in the brewery.
The False Creek Yacht Club in Vancouver. This is where you can park your boat that you buy with your hodl bitcoin.
The view of the Floating houses on the Aqua Bus in Vancouver
BC Place. This is the home of the BC Lions CFL team. Not sure anyone cares but there must be a lot of other stuff that goes on here.
Science World science centre in Vancouver. To be honest, we skipped the exhibits to go day drinking. My GF is a scientist and I already appreciate science obviously. But what a cool dome!
The Trans Am Totem.
1928 BMW R62 Motorcycle. A BMW Motorcycle is a beamer, a bmw car is bimmer. I spoke to the owner and he rode this bike from Ottawa all across the USA and then took it to Victoria BC.
The Lighthouse at the Breakwater in Victoria.
A Bridge to nowhere. There were so many bridges and so little time.
While I was spotting cars left and right, there weren't that many ostentatious displays of wealth. This Jaguar was neat though.
Everyone and their brother drives a Lexus or Toyota 4x4. And there's no rust!
Now, Screw Off!
