Awesome, closest to Matala is Heraklion. Google maps indicates that you need 1 hour 20 minutes by car to go there.

In Heraklion you can choose between three shops. Current price at all of them is 1199 euros.

They all say that is in stock, but I believe that your best chance is with the first two.

Matala was the very first place I stayed in 30 yrs ago !! and it was just 1 taverna, a few houses and the beach and caves - it was NO TOURIST, very of the beaten track and fantastic. Carried on holidaying there for 10 yrs -2 or 3 times a year, all over the Island - its the best of all the Greek Islands . Try Rhythemenon and Spili beautiful and a ride up through the mountains is awesom - shame about your drone :( - just loving your posts, takes me back....

Awesome Island! I remembered my travel to Crete in 2010. Seems like nothing has changed since then and I love it. Greeks are very traditional people and also as islanders they differ from those living on mainland

Oh my god, it's so heartbreaking to see your Mavic Pro broken!! I crashed mine twice into palm trees last year in Bali, but luckily it survived both accidents. So sorry for yours!

So sunny in Greece and warm, so nice :) Not like here in Moscow - cold ( around 10-15 degrees of Celsius) and rainy :( Olives and Olives Oil must be very good.... and of course this blue and beautiful sea... It's gotta be good to sip rum at the shore and watch sunset ^^

Nooooooo mate. I know the exact feeling and it sucks!!! I had the same drone and it crashed (I was a little ticked because I was driving across Canada and it crashed by itself) It was an excellent aircraft despite it being very small in size. Needless to say after a lot of bitching with the support team they agreed to drop the $176 to fix it. It took alot of battling with them for this though.
Not sure if wind counts for a valid reason to send it back thooo :( RIP to your mavic pro. Maybe you can find parts and fix it sometime

That sucks, have you considered using a Phantom 3 with the Mavic body mod? Its like $100US and it can go on any phantom 3, The FOV on the phantom is much better as it provides a wider shot while lower. I can send you a link to it if you're interested.

My family is from Greece! Crete looks amazing I'll have to go next time I'm visiting.
My favorite place in Greece is kalamata. It has every quality you listed in your article that you desire. A hidden gem for sure, I hope you get the opportunity to see it!
