When I was driving around the Cape Peninsula, with my friendsl we came across a street sign that warned of Baboons. Finding it hard to imagine that there would actually be Baboons running around in the wild, in what appeared to be an area with many tourist, we felt it may have been some sort of joke. As we kept driving, my friend screamed "BABOONS" and again we thought it was a joke. It was only until she convinced us to turn around that we saw the baboon family chilling out at the side of the road. We parked next to them to have a look, very cautious as they are very vicious animals. It did not seem to faze them that we were there watching them so they kept going about their monkey business, whilst enjoy the South African sun.

Photographed on iPhone X.

Looks like he (or she) is contemplating the meaning of life! Nice snap!

so good to see them still free and just chilling :) we all need to take care of our planet or soon scenes like this will never ever be seen. :(

Awesome picture, thanks for sharing!

It's really sad that the cape baboons are so misunderstood and unfairly treated. People have taken to feeding them and thus creating pests. They will try, very successfully, to get into cars, steal food right out of your hands, harass children etc thanks to ignorance from people not treating them with the respect a wild animal deserves.

So lovely seeing this image of a baboon just being allowed to be.
