Blautopf in Blaubeuren

in photography •  7 years ago

Some days ago I made a post in which I shared a picture of a certain place. Because no one was able to guess where the picture was taken, I wanted to give the solution to you :)

Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich einen Beitrag gepostet in der es um ein bestimmtes Bild ging. Heute kommt die Auflösung; Es war in Blaubeuren und es ist der Blautopf :)

This picture was taken in Blaubeuren, Germany at a location that is known as "Blautopf". It is an entrance to an elaborate cave system on the swabian alps. The word "Blau" means blue which is a good choice for the place as can be seen in the picture below. There is a special kind of atmosphere here, especially if you think about the mysteries of this "pool". Where does it go? How deep is it (it is about 50m deep, but a lot longer), are there any animals living here, and so on.

It is quite mesmerizing to look at the water as it rises to the surface (the water actually comes up to the surface at this place). It is incredibly clear and calm as can be seen in the pictures and I think a great place to let your thoughts wander... Anyway I hope you have the possibility of coming to this place some day, or perhaps you will find a similar place close to you! It is worth checking out :)

The water flows off and becomes a river of its own
