Today we have spent the morning at Castelsardo as recommended by @ervin-lemark who visited it a few weeks ago.

We have learnt a lot of history about the origin of this fort and Sardegna in general.

In particular about the domination of this island by the Catalans, during almost 500 years...

It’s weird how the population here explain the Catalan domination depending on the town you are here...

For instance, in Alghero they are used to consider themselves as Catalans...actually some of them speak old Catalan language and we have managed to understand each other using this language.
Instead, just 30 km far from Alghero there is Castelsardo on which they remember and explain the Catalan domination during the Middle Ages as the Black age of their history...

Of course, Alghero was populated by Catalans and Castelsardo was not...

Dominators and dominated, “everything depends on the color of the lens of your glasses”

Hey, I envy you :)

Both Alguer and Castelsardo are beautiful cities. Their history ... I bet you can hear similar stories in every city with medieval history.

Have fun. OK, you already have lots of fun, I know :)

Doing my best! This is just the beginning 😂😂
