7 Continents: Madagascar - Exotic Animals

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

Today I show you the beautiful animals of Madagascar. It's the mysterious island southwest of Africa, that you might know from the movie with the same name. Here is a Lemure, the iconic animal with the intensive eyes. They come in a lot of shapes and colors and each one is fantastic to watch.

A way more relaxed and slow animal is the Chamaeleon. Their changing color patterns are a wonder of nature. A specialty that you can see in this photo are their cute, boxing glove like feet. Another fact that most people don't know: Their tongue is actually not sticky. It has a muscle in it's tip, that grabs the insect like a little hand.

Here is an animal with a very cute name: "Tomato Frog". It's much larger than european frogs and has large, intense eyes. When they feel threatened they puff up their body to look even larger.

Great photos, as usual!

What is your favorite exotic animal?

female human

Your answer is a bit strange to be honest. A human female is not an animal....

I’m a bit strange.

Woa, this is amazing!! We dream of going here one day, thank you for sharing!

Thank you very much. I'm happy you like it :)

I love Tomato Frog @travelingmom.
Her skin color is quite interesting...

I love that frog too and the name is really funny.

😍😘👍

Lovely post @travelingmom. I've enjoyed reading the past ones as well and your bio that was featured in another post. You are living a very adventurous life.

You've seen some pretty amazing things. I look forward to reading more :)

Thank you very much. It probably sounds a bit more adventurous that it actually is. I try to travel a lot, meaning 5-6 journeys a year. But I also enjoy very much to come how, edit my photos and post them here. I think it's a good idea to start early with traveling. Even with only 2 trips a year that's 60 trips in 30 years. :)

wow echt sehr eindrucksvolle und wunderschöne Arten :)
wirklich tolle Fotos!
Wann warst du in Madagaskar?

I really like animal photography.
I also really like your posts.
I will be back to see the latest info on this blog.

Beautiful photography. Lemur face is such subtle colors. Can’t pick a favorite. I don’t think chickens are really exotic animals! 🐓🐓

Oh, I like chickens too.
