Hello again my dear steemian friends! :)
That article has been introduced in my previous post.
All that little holiday idea started when my girlfriend told me that she's coming here for one week before she will flight away from Australia to Paris. She was doing her farm work in Victoria to be able to extend her work&holiday visa for another year. After 3 months on that farm she deserved something special ;)
So I started to plan everything...
first what I did was searching the internet for any possible advices. And it didn't disappointed me :)
I started from renting a car the for whole week, a bigger room and little house for 2 days in the Daintree, then I put all my discovers on a map:
this is map of places down from Port Douglas
The main plan was to see:
*Daintree
*Paronella Park
*Tablelands
*Waterfalls
All the rest were optional.
We started our trip with checking in into our little Daintree house. It was in Diwan, 20min north from Daintree river. The house was amazing. It has just one bedroom, one bathroom and veranda. But we couldn't ask for more. the view from hammocks was so stunning! Situated on a hill we were facing all the valley with mountains as a background and all that amazing forest around us...
Perfect spot if you want to run away from all the noise, stress, town, people. Just you and your love drinking coffee far far away from everything and everyone...
After we unpack our backpacks we jumped into the car and tick first thing from our list: Discovery Centre.
As is written on their website:
" the Daintree Rainforest boasts the highest variety of plants and animals found in any rainforest on the planet. The Daintree Discovery Centre allows visitors to experience these interesting species, as well as the history and Indigenous Culture of this ancient environment, through self-guided Daintree Rainforest tours or professionally guided groups tours.
The Daintree Rainforest is widely accepted as the oldest tropical rainforest in the world. The oldest part, north of the Daintree River, is estimated to be over 150 million years old! The Daintree Rainforest is home to the endangered Southern Cassowary and the oldest flowering plant species known as Idiot fruit."
Self-guided means that we were given a 'phone' and wen we pressed right number visible on little plates along the path we could hear a story about particular fruit/tree/plant/animal.
Interesting part is hidden inside a little 'tree-house'. There are audiovisual lessons about indigenous animals in Australia and particularly in Queensland. Of course spiders, snakes and crocodiles ;)
And 23m meter tower!!
After all that walk, before next stop : exotic fruit farm in Cape Tribulation, we went to rest a bit on one of a local beaches :)
This area has so amazing, clean beaches with breathtaking views! The sand is nearly white, water is sooo blue!
We just lied down on that sand, relaxed, ate our lunch. Enjoyed our time, enjoyed our company...
Next 'episode' is coming soon :)
Goodness! This actually looks like a fun area! Those hammocks look mad comfortable!
