The Mystery Owls That Appeared Overnight

Walmart has bird infestation problems in many of their stores and they don't know how to handle it but mostly just ignore the problem because they don't want to spend any money to solve it. At least Ingles is trying. There was a national news story of hundreds of birds getting into the meat at one Walmart. In our Walmart they just have a few that get inside and poke holes in the bird seed bags in the pet and lawn and gardening sections. The ceilings are so high in these stores it gives them room to fly, roost, hide and nest out of reach once inside and they make an unsanitary mess anywhere and everywhere. Having a garden you may find out how problematic birds can become. Moving "scarecrows" or rather scareowls in this case work somewhat better. Objects that reflect light and move in the wind and perch spikes are other useful deterrents. Predatory bird sounds or random sudden brief loud noises are also useful for a time but birds are intelligent and learn when hungry or determined enough to get what they want. When they eat your raspberries and blueberries before your able to harvest them or flood your car or other property with damaging and unsightly bird crap you too might get one of these scareowls or other deterrents before long.
