STEEM purchased me a Nikon P900 and I took pictures of the Moon. #proof

To The Moon!

It was a little hazy out, but I've been wanting to do this for so long that I couldn't wait. The video looks amazing, but I'm going to re-shoot when the night is clear so it looks even better. This camera is fantastic! Even with all of the haze and clouds these are far better shots of the moon than I was able to get with a 500mm lens on a Canon DSLR.

Damn thats some nice shots you have there. The dslr is amazing.. Im using a buget camera nikon with 48x zoom and I thought that was a lot of zoom..
Might invest in a camera like yours if I get some Steem
Cheers and happy posting

awesome shots wooow :-)
have you noticed the alien base on the 5th picture

I never had patience for that. Good sohots.

Wow! That is amazing. I had no idea that you could get photos of the moon like that with a normal camera. What type of lens are you using exactly?

It's a Nikon P900, a point and click with a 2000mm optical zoom lens. I may have taken even better shots early this morning. I haven't looked yet, but I suspect they are even better. Will post one when I get to it.

Looking forward to it!

Great shots! Did you try any of the planets?

I tried something big and bright, but a cloud came along and I never got a good look again. On a clear night I'm going to point this ****er at everything in the sky! :)

Probably either Saturn or Jupiter. If you get an app like Sky Map for your phone, you can point it at an object in the sky and find out what it is.

sweet thanks for that tip!

I just posted my footage of Saturn taken last night, if you're interested.

My god. Those are some detailed moon pics. If you look close you can see the apolo landings...
Must be one good camera.

I'd like to get one of these camera's as well. is this the best camera on the market for zooming under $1,000 or is there another level above this. great moon shots.

You can even get some reasonable shots of planets, nebulae, and the International Space Station!

Do you have photo's of the ISS and have you posted them? I'd like to check them out.

This is pretty much the best you're going to get for the price.

Pretty amazing for the price. I plan to go shopping this weekend in Bangkok and check it out. Thanks.

A camera so good you can see the Moons pores. lol

thanks for confirming - now we are confident finally!

Those insane Nikon super zooms are really tempting my wallet.

Basically a coldwar-era spy telescope.

Basically a coldwar-era spy telescope.

Yup. :)

Absolutely beautiful shot of the moon. You did.... indeed go to the Moon with Steem :)

whoa dude, epic zoom, so much fun to be had with such a device...
adding this to my wishlist

got me fucked why that big rock in the air doesn't rotate

That is pretty crazy you're able to these clear and detailed photographs of the moon like this. See the craters on the moon - it takes a pretty good beating from asteroids, the moon probably took a good hit or two that might have hit Earth when mankind was developing as a species and we never knew about it.

nobody did comment about the title: 100% Proof STEEM is Going to the Moon!

they focused on your beautiful pictures.
Good Job!

You do know the moon's made of cheese right?? Channeling my inner 'Wallace & Gromit' haha great shots @tuck-fheman

Wow, that's purely amazing, I love the images you took!

I've been looking to buy a computer for a while myself but I never had enough money to buy something good enough, and apparently, with Steemit, I have finally a chance of doing that. I start to like this website more and more.

I'm really happy for you, congratulations for your camera, I hope you have fun with it. Best of luck! :)

Wow, those are great! I never figured out how to make nice pictures of the moon. Good job!

It looks like these photos where taken through a telescope.

Awesome I have been wanting that camera for some time it looks like a cool camera and that zoom is crazy , love it.

I learned two things tonight.

  • My tripod is a piece of shit (thanks Amazon).
  • Buying the wireless remote shutter was a great decision.

If you're taking still photos of the moon, the P900's optical stabilisation is good enough and the moon is bright enough that (In general) you don't really need a tripod.

All of my moon shots... 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ...were handheld except #3

Yeah I was really impressed with the handheld shots. Nice moon shots!

Great little story. Yes, there are some tripods out there, which one does not need to hold on to ;).

Yes the moon is so clear and beautiful.

Wow... Great!

Amazing camera & lens

Viva Nikon! These are great shots! I wish you clear skies!

:) Thanks, I will try again when they clear.

What Spectacular photos! The detail is out of this world.

Fabulous pictures... : )

WOW

Augh, those are great! I love how black you got the sky- and how perfectly lit each of those crenellations are. I had been bandying about picking up an old D8- or D5 to save money before I tromp off to Iceland, but this is a pretty effective sales pitch. I'm a Nikon fangirl, but I'd happily sell off some of the collection to upgrade. Hella FOMO.

I have fallen in love with this camera after watching your pictures.

thanks... it's very benefits

@tuck-fheman resteemed and added to my top list)
