Texas Nature Photos - July 31, 2016 - Ant on a Plant & Alien Pods [OSC]

in photography •  9 years ago  (edited)

All photos were taken on the morning of July 31st, 2016 on my property with a Canon 1000D and a "Nifty Fifty" Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens and UV filter. I promise to venture off of my property soon to get some different shots of some local wildlife. All images (other than the crop of the ant) were perfected using Adobe Lightroom thanks to some great tips from @steemychicken1 .

I didn't even notice this little guy until right before uploading, so I made a crop of the untouched version of the image below.

Alien pods growing on a tree leaf. They Live!

I hope you enjoyed looking at them as much as I did taking them!

Uptucked!! We have the same DSLR, it's a great cameras and these are great shots man!

Thanks!

Beautiful tuck, how the hell did you manage to see that little caterpillar ?? Lol I would have walked right past that thing. Also that sky is untouched ??? That is the bluest sky I have ever seen in my life.
edit: totally just realized that is probably another alien pod not a standing caterpillar. <-- idiot

It's some kind of ant, I would call it a wood ant, but I'm not sure. I just happened to zoom in right before uploading and got a pleasant surprise! :)

As noted at the top, all of the images, except the cropped ant, were adjusted in Adobe Lightroom. I highly recommend that program because it's very simple to use and does a fantastic job making pictures look a lot better. Thanks for the feedback!

Nice shots. What a sky! And yes, Lightroom is such a powerful and easy-to-use program. Since the integration of the repair brush there is hardly a reason for me to go to photoshop anymore. And the batch adjustment functionality is an invaluable time-saver.

Really nice ones! I like number 3 and 4 best.

I went for a walk and this is what I found. Notice the similarities?
The photo was taken on the afternoon of July 31st, 2016 on the street with a Cubot X15.

It is a good blue sky photo of the very feeling.
Mood is now very well.
Thank you for the beautiful photos

amaizing sky!
Blue in the bule!

I have a Canon but somehow pictures is not come out as good. I think I need a len. Great pics.

The lens definitely makes a difference. This is a "Nifty Fifty" lens, but the real magic happens in a program called Lightroom, which is fantastic.

I promise the next photo's I post will be farther down the range. ;)
