Door Jam Mountain Hiking (to Loader Peak) - part 2πŸ“·

in photography β€’Β  7 years agoΒ

I posted the first series of photos hiking up this awesome ridge scramble to Door Jam, this series will show the mountain beyond this point and up to the next summit, called Loader.

This first photo looks back down toward the summit of door jam mountain, which is then almost all rock up above it along the ridge, which has some awesome exposure. You can see some of the the animal/hiking trails alone the skree slopes.

From up here, the panorama shots are fantastic, and some perfect backdrop mountains with snow peaks and puffy clouds.

This looks beyond from the summit of Loader, to the even more distance additional peaks along this traverse. The scrambling from here turns to climbing and mountaineering, which was not on the agenda for this day, but I would love to carry on this long traverse one of these trips for sure. Ropes and harnesses are needed for these additional peaks though for safety.

Plenty of long ridge lines out in this area, I'm going to have to come back and do that one across the middle of the photo. not sure if its has any trails but I'll find some way. That's my favorite kind of hike anyway, when I don't know where I am going and have to find a route.

We stopped for a quick sandwich up here behind some rocks as the windy was just insane and cold. Didn't stop me from running around at the summit snapping a few more panoramas though. haha

One last shot looking north to the long traverse that has my attention now. Someday....

you are a serious outdoor guy hm?
absolutely awesome
i grew up on a mountainside myself, i miss that times
now i live in a so called "beach paradise" but i miss my mountains
so its really nice to look at your pics, great job

Thanks chrisx, I'm pretty serious about getting to the mountains, yes. The more often the better. The longer the trips, the better, the harder the hikes, the better. Those are the ones no one else gets to!

stick with it
in my younger years i was like you
i always enjoyed the absence of human beings on places like that
no distractions at all :-)

Some people can't understand it, so nice when follow hikers do, its something I wouldn't want any other way at times. Its an awesome escape. Thanks !

Wow what an amazing hike that must have been. Must be in great shape to do that! I'm following you!

thanks yonny, followed you back as well. Some of the hikes I do certainly require lots of experience, energy and I like to think, some athletisms, yes. Hiking keeps me in great shape actually, along with all my other activities/sports.

This looks amazing!

thanks so much, your 1st post, welcome! Looks like you are into hiking as well. Hope your legs are not dismembered for that?!!!

Haha I still have them for now!
