And people in slums live in 10 by 15 (15sq feet) with no lavatory facility, no windows , in between large amount of trash and also not to miss waste gases from an industrial unit just to save 10 or 15 USD a month.
This is increasing class division is ridiculous.

Wonderful images ( sadly) but thank you for your post. I have visited slums and could not believe how incredibly kind & positve the children and most remain in these conditions.
Loving all India has to offer and this trip has not failed to be both an eye opener and joy.

well thats coz of indian politics. the thing is iv been to a few countries in the west and latin america and southeast asia, iv seen beggers and people living on streets there too. but they never put it out on the media. If u travel abroad, when we say we are from india. most of them reply by telling me oh, its such a poor country, murderers and thugs walking around, etc. So its a dream right for you to come here? well we being Indians portray our own country that its poor, when we have more gold then any country on the planet, we were the richest country on the planet few centuries ago, we were called Golden Bird. This situation was created by the british colonial rule. We need to tell that too. Yes we are facing this coz of corruption, but at the same time we are not doing anything about population control.

Im from mumbai and i stay close to Antilia. No one believes that we have rated as high as 2000-3000$ per sqft in mumbai.

I appreciate your photos, but dont portray our country as poor, when we have true asset wealth more then any country on the planet.

I completely respect your opinion, but I have some things to say, first of all it is not all about beggars or roadside people these children are from working class family. There parents are laborer, electricians, road side stall owners, home maids etc.
They pay rent to places they live in.
My major concern for this post was not just poverty, but how can Bio-degradation plant that disposes human medical waste operate near such a large population dense area. This is limit of negligence on part of administration.
I also have a great love for my country. But the reality is reality it cannot be hided. For more then anything my post was about how much in-humanistic condition these people live in.
And about people paying 2000-3000$ per square feet are only a small of our population who have enough opportunities. On the other side people migrate to a metropolitan leaving his home town because their is no work for them there.
thanks

Hi, I'm also from Mumbai and I never knew about this situation. Thank you for this post
