I remember having to go outside the swimming pool and call my mum when she forgot to pick me up from practice. I even had one of those special phone cards that you could use in the UK card payphones.
Never pranked the operator but I did used to love calling the talking clock :D
Haha! I had to use these so many times as a kid..the talking clock! You could also call for the "joke of the day" and the weather robot guy! Makes me wonder how many of those types of numbers were out there in telespace :p
