Dark skies are an interesting topic. Awesome map that one is! I lived in England for a long time - you should take a look at that light map!!! Horrible! In Southampton, I could barely see Mizar, let along Alcor! (the binary in Ursa Major.)

    Yep. Light pollution is definitely a problem, and one that is growing worse. I count myself fortunate to live somewhere where I can still get to dark places with a short drive.
