Gatore was the royal crematorium for the majestic rulers of Rajasthan. The place also has a cenotaph for each of the more famous maharajas cremated there. Engraved with beautiful Rajasthani carvings, the cenotaphs are one of the major attractions of Jaipur. The cenotaphs are shaped like umbrellas (chhatris) and hence the place is called Gatore Ki Chhatriyan. I visited this place with my friends last year when we were working on a project. We were mesmerixed by the beauty of the architecture and the intricate marble carvings on the walls and the pillar.
These are some of the snaps of the place:
The place is very quiet as one can feel the wind flowing and hear the birds chirping. I tried to capture the sounds there. The video is not so good, but you can still feel the wind flowing through your head.
These are some of the images of beautiful marble carvings there:
Aren't they beautiful?
Let me know what do you think.
