The golden walkway floating over water like a gossamer thread was an art project done by Christo over Lake Iseo in Northern Italy, hugging the Alps. People could walk over the floating piers and reach the island in the middle of the lake. Millions of people thronged the bridge over the one month it was put up. [has been phased out now, sadly]
