That first picture looks so serene, but like you said, who knows if the weather was kind to the two explorers.

    Having had the privilege of growing up in this area, I think it is most likely that the weather was awful for most of the four months they were there. Sure, it's not rainy all the time, but even now, it's the second-cloudiest city in the US... The sun is a rare treat - especially in the winter.
