When accountants manage, architecture mostly ends in big box construction. I think this building is a great use of limited funds to add a few genuinely unique and significant details.
I remember walking in to the office. There wasn't a pro photo anywhere so I knew every sale was going to be to a freshly educated customer. There were two reception desks with one awkwardly left. She was so friendly and really wanted to help. Clearly free of any authority to make any decisions, or schedule a meeting, when I asked if they had recently completed any commercial buildings specifically one that hadn't yet been photographed, she mentioned the higher education building.
I don't think any architect or engineer ever really saw these. I remember going back a couple times and getting no father than the weird desk. We probably sent a drop box link with some low res files and never heard back.
