When I was in Amsterdam I saw this swan nesting in the city centre on a canal right next to Damrak. I was struck by how practical it was and how beautiful it remained despite the materials it had to use for its nest.

Yeah. Beautifully tragic. Reminds me of a photo of a nest in a tree I saw the other day, made about 80% of used syringes.
