Steeming it on a Hill.

The best thing about wireless internet from a gadget, that I can mix it up. I'm not tied to one place, and can be in touch wherever there is 3G coverage. There are some downsides too. For example I am affected by some bugs that don't happen to the desktop users (and maybe Android users as well). Yesterday, I was doing this huge post on the music apps for iOS, but then just before posting, it just vanished. And I had no backup, which is pretty careless of me. So while, I've partially recreated that post, I wanted to do something different this time.

The hill.

Between the place where I am staying now, and the neqrest supermarket lies this really nice, steep hill, that I had to mostly go around. But lately I've decided that it would be awesome to get to the top, and see the panorama of Ulan-Ude from its top.

After climbing it for the first time I've noticed that I am quite a bit out of shape, since I was wheezing and panting half the way to the top. After realising that, I've decided that every time I go to get some groceries I'll do so by climbing up and down the hill. Right now, it is my third venture since that decision, and boy I was right about the views!

The view towards our house. And the buddhist temple, to the left.

Ulan-Ude is a bit suburban for a capital of a Republic, but buryatia itself is quite pastoral. There are a few appartment buildings, like the ones below, and the center has a lot of modern building side by side with wooden huts. I'll show you more, when I'll do a big post dedicated to Ulan-Ude. :-) The photos below are towards the city center, but my camera isn't good enough to be able to see anything of significance there.

A lot of interesting plants.
Actually I've never saw a flower like this before. The top of the hill is teeming with insects, butterflies, ants, grasshopers, and a lot of grassy plants. There are some flowers, some reddish grasses cover the hill, and make it look like the permanent dawn is breaking upon it. Some of the flowers I've never seen before, like those things depicted on the right. They have this weird combination of a flowery stalk, and those greenish leaves that actually look much more like a flower than the actual flower itself.

Anyhow, while it is really nice to sit in the rays of one of the last sunny days of autumn, I still have to bring back the breads and the milk. Tonight there is going to be a ritual happening, and that means a lot of people are comming. Hopefully I'll recreate the post I've lost yesterday, so you can look forward to it.

P.S. Remember that [snake] (https://steemit.com/animals/@xanoxt/while-i-m-no-papa-pepper-sometimes-i-to-handle-dangerous-ok-not-really-wildlife) that I posted about earlier? It turned out that it is actually a siberian pitviper, so my friend and I are very foolhardy, while the snake is very friendly for the most poisonous snake in Buryatia. :-D She can't keep her at home though, so will be setting the snake free sometime soon.

P.P.S. I am trying to gather enough SBD to attend the Steemfest in Amsterdam. If I unable to gather enough funds, I'll be spending them to organise the meet that would coincide with the Steem Fest, and perhaps you should do the same. Let's have a worldwide party! :-D

nice view

One of the reasons I keep climbing that hill. :-)

Oh god - i know how frustrating to lose all the text((

About a couple of hours of work, yeah. Well, this is beta, and I am an edge case. 8)

For a "not good enough" camera, those pictures sure look pretty clear!

Yeah. I think all the simple cameras that are in phones and other gadgets perform reasonably well under favorable lighting conditions. Things start to get grainy and blurry once the light level drops a bit. Also, the panoramas turn out weird. 8)

Thanks for the praise/comment too! That is the fuel, that keeps me going, even when the monetary incentives fail. :-D
