Swapmeet Finds #3294

The location shown in this March 1969 slide wasn't too difficult to track down - once I eventually noticed the little street address sign "2650 E. Garvey". Before that, I was having all kinds of trouble. But that info, coupled with the California license plate of that green car on the left (behind the red Mustang) led me to West Covina!

Almost nothing is the same, 50 years later (Google street view: http://bit.ly/2KweCnB ). The W.T. Grant store is now a Wal-Mart. The big MayCo building appears to be long gone. And the strip mall on the right is now Crestview Cadillac and Public Storage. The bowling alley is now some shopping center called "McIntyre". About the only thing that looks the same is that "EASTLAND" tower back there.

beautiful post! it must be the perspective cause the mountains seems much smaller :-)

Yeah, it's definitely a different perspective. And not exactly the same angle. Best I could do with Google street view...

There is nothing more change, almost same at before.
