After the storm

in photography •  7 years ago

The storm will come to shake me to the core of my being. This world is here to show me the impermanence of the tangible and that I am always here right now until this body withers and fades back into the dust from which it came. Choosing not to live in the past or to dwell in the future. Filling my heart with love I continue to untangling this web of Samsara.

A couple of photos from our local beach taken a day after the mudslides in Montecito. A couple weeks after the Thomas fire mother nature brought intense rain creating a mudslide. The mudslides brought trees, organic matter, parts of homes, furniture, clothing all the way into the ocean. Homes were literally swept away. It has been quite a shock and we are still trying to wrap our minds around the impact of what happened. The 101 is still shut down after all this time and we are hoping to have it back by this Monday. The 101 was flooded with mud and debris, finally the Army Corps of Engineers showed up on Monday to help clear the Freeway. Search and rescue have been hard at work to find the remaining people who are missing. Namaste
