A decadent hat pours its shadow over half of Naty Menstrual's face. Photos and a poem of her in My entry to the Shadow Photo Contest-Round 64- Hat Shadows

Hello, my dear friends from the Steem neighborhood:

On the eve of celebrating my first year at Steemit, and despite the constant blackouts in Venezuela, here I am--

Once again I bring along these Steem trails the writer, performer, film actress, fashion designer, plastic artist and sophisticated transgender lady who came from Argentina to present herself at the Fundación Casa del Artista, in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2010, and whose artistic name is Naty Menstrual. She was born in Buenos Aires on November 10, 1975 and was registered with the authorities under the name Fernando Varas Toledo.

On that occasion I had the opportunity to assist her in the production of her literary recitals, to accompany her for a while through the streets, to photograph her and listen her to reading her scabrous texts, full of a grotesque and clandestine lust, or of a provocative outcast, like the one I have selected today to translate for you.

Well, actually, more than an artistic pseudonym, it is a name that comes out of battle for those trenches of literature and sexuality exercised outside the conventions of a conservative and traditionalist region as Latin America continues to be, to a greater or lesser extent. That catchy name is actually a play on words that mixes the name of the famous Spanish singer and actress Nati Mistral, perhaps as an ironic tribute to someone who in life declared himself a sympathizer of the dictator Francisco Franco and any other right-wing ideology - that one that does not accept the diversity of human sexuality - and the adjective "Menstrual" with which we refer to menstruation, that is, the appointment that every woman has every month with the possibility of being a mother.

And it is precisely about this impossibility of being a mother that Naty Menstrual undergoes on what the poem that I bring you here talks about and which belongs to her book Recovered Poetry, available here:

IF I WERE A WOMAN

If I were a woman, I'd have a thousand children.
would have a thousand children with a thousand different men.

If I were a woman I would have a thousand men
with a thousand kisses of red velvet
entangled in my lips
without haste and without time
touring around me.

If I were a woman I would sleep between a thousand bodies
entangled in a thousand tentacles of love
with passion with pain and sweat
the sweats of a thousand men
skins smells licked kisses.

If I were a woman I would dance with a thousand men
the dance of love between a thousand lances
of white semen and red meat
among a thousand spears of a thousand men
wound of pains surpassed of passions.

If I were a woman I would have a thousand children
bad-educated and bad-spoken rebels
irreverent perverts and altered
fed by their hatred against me
fed by an eternal hatred
