The picture shows a typical german colliery from the so called ''Ruhrgebiet''. The people see them as a big part of their cultural identity, because many of the ancestors have worked there. There is only one working colliery left, which will soon close aswell. The former used ones still stand in almost every city and attract photographers and history-lovers.
