Ginkgo or Maidenhair tree is a native of China and fossils have been found dating back 270 million years. There is a story (unconfirmed by me), that this tree was the only surviver of the Hiroshima nuclear bomb. It has quite a history. It's leaves turn this amazing cannery yellow in the Fall which makes for an amazing display, especially large trees that leave a carpet of yellow beneath themselves going into winter. From my tree in France.
