I think you did some great work on those images.
heve you tried to edit the pictures to make them a bit darker? some free and easy to use software would be paint.net or Gimp. playing around with contrast and brightness levels can change a lot. also if you don't know how to turn off your camera's flash, have you tried covering it with your hand or a pice of paper?

Thank you:) I know a little bit more about the camera and how to use it now so I'll attempt to go back and take some new pictures one day, right now everything is covered in snow:p I do have photoshop, but haven't started using it yet, I might give it a go once I got complete control on the settings of the camera:p
