Memorial complex "The height of Marshal Konev"

War is always scary, it is always a pain of loss. Is it necessary to preserve the memory of this terrible event for the future generation or is it necessary to put it all to oblivion?

As long as there are museums in memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, we visit them.

The Memorial Complex "The Height of Marshal Konev" was opened after reconstruction in 2003, on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Kharkiv from the Nazi invaders. In 1943, the headquarters of the Commander of the Steppe Front was stationed here, from which Marshal I. Konev, in order to save the city from destruction, gave the order for the night assault on Kharkov, and the next day the city was liberated.

In the battle nearly half a million soldiers died, but this operation laid the foundation for the liberation of all of Ukraine.

The memorial was built in 1965, in 2003 a complete reconstruction was carried out. The complex includes a 17.5-m high stele, an exhibition of military equipment, a chapel in honor of Ionna-Warrior, a museum "Kharkiv region in the Great Patriotic War 1941-45."

In one of the halls of the museum the command post of I. Konev is reproduced, its last form is exhibited.
