Tripoli, Arabic Ṭarābulus, in full Ṭarābulus al-Gharb (“The Western Tripoli”), the capital city of Libya. Situated in northwestern Libya along the Mediterranean coast, it is the country’s largest city and chief seaport.

The city was known as Oea in ancient times and was one of the original cities (along with Sabratha and Leptis Magna) that formed the African Tripolis, or Tripolitania.
A historical region of northern Africa roughly coextensive with the ancient region of Tripolitania. It became part of the Barbary States in the 16th century and later passed to Turkey and Italy.

Tripoli's weather is warm most of the time in a year, about 14c to 24c during winter and 28C to 42c in a summertime, I can tell Tripoli it does have lovely weather atmosphere to live in, but it's sad how after the revolution, things have changed, we went from revolution an order of freedom concept to a civil war, a little different militias everywhere .

anyway, this is not a political blog, it's just about a sharing beautiful side of Tripoli ignoring the shady side of this city, hopefully, one day it will find a way for safety and stability.

one of the most famous historical spots in Tripoli is Arch of Marcus Aurelius, is a Roman triumphal arch in the city of Oea, modern Tripoli, where it is found near the northeastern entrance to the Medina.
It is a quadrifrons triumphal arch, surmounted by an unusual octagonal cupola, and was erected (entirely in marble) by Gaius Calpurnius Celsus, quinquennial duumvir of the city, to commemorate the victories of Lucius Verus, junior colleague and adoptive brother of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius, over the Parthians in the Roman–Parthian War of 161–66.

the most my favorite part of Tripoli it's the old city, it was build up in the ottoman century, Libya was ruled by the Ottoman Empire from 1551 to 1864, they where known as a Karamanli ( their last name )
in 1711, Ahmed Karamanli, an Ottoman cavalry officer and son of a Turkish officer and Libyan woman, seized power and founded the Karamanli dynasty, which would last 124 years. The 1793–95 Tripolitanian civil war occurred in those years
