Harvest Season in Flores, Indonesia

in photomag •  6 years ago

Last May I took an overland trip across East Nusa Tenggara, or otherwise known by its Portuguese name, Flores. This photo was taken at a local farmers house near the world famous Spider Rice fields. In Flores mostly all agriculture is organic and Coffee is often just picked from wild plants and dried in the sun. One of the most interesting aspects of traveling to me is seeing how slightly differently people do things, harvesting rice and coffee, in this instance. Although not known for either its coffee or its rice, its a great place to visit to try both with hopefully a coconut husk barbecued tropical fish on the side.
