Northern Magic - Across Canada, Day 34 of 92

Continuing the mountain-in-background-with-foreground-element-leading-into-it-series (seriously, did anyone notice that trend?) from Kluane National Park, Yukon (did I mention Kluane was one of my favourite parks and parts of Canada?)...

This sunset was the best...maybe the best on the trip - and it just kept going, and going, and going until the colors faded away...only to return for an encore! I stayed at this one location the whole time and kept changing my angle, trying to find the perfect composition - the light was so great throughout that afterwards I ended up with about forty similar images starred in Lightroom, all of which could have made the cut for the daily share. I couldn't choose, so rather than spend another indecisive hour flipping through my Lightroom catalog I enlisted a friend to pick the winner with a fresh, objective eye (thank you - you know who you are!). It took her about five seconds to choose this one, and I agreed: one of the final photos from the night.

So often the last pictures are the best - that's why I stay so late and never stop searching, refusing to be satisfied until the light has faded away for the last time, leaving only photos, memories, and a strong desire for supper.
