Kinney Lake

KinneyLake.jpg

The serene Kinney Lake. It sits in the Robson Valley along the Berg Lake Trail inside Mt Robson Provincial Park and can only be accessed by hiking or mountain biking. It is a true mirror lake with the opaque glacial waters holding an amazing reflection and the steep cliffs that surround all sides blocking all wind most mornings. The second shot is a silhouette of my wife stopping to take in the view and catch our breath before we continue on the steep and arduous trek up to Berg Lake. Both of the shots are hand held at 1/160s, f8 at 24mm. British Columbia, Canada

Nice! Are these overnight backpacking trips that you photograph? I'd be curious to see your gear list if you have one? For example, here are the packing lists for @trang's (list) and my (list) upcoming John Muir Trail hike.

Yes this was a 3 day trip we did. I will check out the packing lists links. Might be a good idea for a post; I will get some shots for the next time I pack. The post yesterday in Nepal was a 30 day hiking trip so a little longer ;-)

That's literally one of the most perfect reflections I have ever seen!

It is quite phenomenal up there.

what a spectacular photo, the places are really amazing. I congratulate you for your beautiful works

I really like surroundings or panorama in photography. It’s simply so relaxing to see a stunning panorama picture.

Perfect image and I love the little cloud in the middle :)

Thanks

Wow such a beautiful photograph you have taken. The reflection of great mountains on water is really going to take my heart. Moreover, small white part of mountain is adding a different value in your snap. Really loved the photograph

Beautiful lake! Excellent photos! I wish I were there right now.

Thanks

Thanks ; it’s a special spot

Great pic and share about the trail. I love the reflection of the mountain in the lake! The size of mount Robson is huge. To put it into perspective, when you are driving towards the mountain from West to East, there is a moment where you come around a corner and much of the sky disappears as suddenly this massive wall of mountain appears. Your image captures this awesome Mountain in its beautiful landscapes and grandness!

Yes I know the drive well. It is a special part of the rockies

Beautiful
