FLOWER PHOTOGRAPHY | A mini series i started, for the love of delicate flowers

in photomatic •  7 years ago  (edited)

Lately i see more and more beautiful flower photography. I just wanted to give it a try.

Seeing that @adrianobalan is an expert in this domain, i asked him what kind of lens he recommends. He gave me the advice to buy an M42 lens, so i bought two of them. So now, i am the owner of a Helios 44m-2 (50mm, f2.0) and a Porst 35mm 2.8 MC (35mm, f2.8)

I had some old flowers that i bought for my girlfriend (she likes to keep them until they go dry, and after press them in a book and preserve them like that), so i photographed them in the living-room sunset light.

Hope you will enjoy:

Nice pictures. I have commented this before, but I never realized until I got on Steemit that macro photography was such a huge deal. I dig it though. I love your statement: "so I bought two of them" too funny. Always best to be prepared right? Great post!

Hey man, first of all thanks for the kind comment. And about the lenses, i wanted just one, but did not know the price of them. They were so cheap for what they do. I payed like 35$ for both of them :) So, i hope the return of investment will be good.

Macro photography was always like a siren for me. I heard about it, but never really saw it as a productive style. Now, after my first month of steemit i am falling in love with it and also i see it pays decent money.

Oh wow! That is a great price for the lenses. My dad was a freelance photographer, so I know how pricey they can get! For sure, I am starting to be pulled by the allure of it as well. Once it warms up a little where I live I might have to get outside and start giving it a go!

very good photos I'm interested in seeing your struggle. always success @victorcovring

haha Yes, @victorcovrig, please do a behind the scenes series where you photograph yourself while taking pictures. It would be really awesome :D

No way dude, i was crawling on the floor trying to get a good angle. That looked so fucked up:))

The way I see it you're just giving more reasons to do it, and not the other way around :)))

Thanks man! :)

good job

Hey, thank you so much! :D

Beautiful, like works of art in their own right!

Wow, so nice to hear that. Thank you so much! :)

So detailed !!

Thanks!

Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures with us. Really beautiful. How long has she had this hobby?

Hey, thanks for the comment. She started few years ago, maybe i'll post some photos if she lets me :))

Those are some great results. Love the lighting on the first one!

Hey man! Thank you so much, so glad you like them :D

really nice level of detail! I don't know much about photography and not usually impressed by it, but these photos are awesome!

Well, thank you so much. It does not take expertise to like something :D So, i am truly glad that you like them!

I like these pictures!
These are not the usual pictures with fresh flowers. In these shots can arise different emotions, typical of life. The observer can identify himself with that flower.
The soft light and the blurred give a correct atmosphere.

It is all about the lens! And having a sense of what a good picture is. Good choice on the lenses, the photos have good detail.

Wow, beautiful shots! Yellow flowers always had reminded me of Van Gogh's paintings, such a warm color. I want to try make some flower shots too. Let's see how it goes.

Wow. I like your photos so much. Cool

hey awesome macro shots of flowers!
mii likes the mood you created in your series
^o^

Hi!
This is just beautiful!
The Helios 44 is a nice lens indeed, I have one mounted on my camera right now. The Bokeh from a Helios 44 is both the most disturbing and beautiful I know of.
Looking forward to see more images from you!
Cheers, and have a great weekend.
Erlend

looks like a good attempt :)
