Some days ago...

Someone arranged flowers to sit on the gate of this building. I don't know who, but it's far too neat and regular to be unintentional.

The thought that someone took the time to do this... on a whim or out of a strange habit, to relieve boredom or to put a smile on the face of a random passerby, just like mine... I literally had to stop and think about it with sudden wonder - what little things do I leave in my wake and what waves do they cause?

And here, someone left the last two Harry Potter on the corner. There seemed to be something strange about it. Two books from one of the most popular YA series, and not one of the subsets one would expect.

It's put aside, as is customary in the classic illegally dumped garbage community-sharing tradition ... but usually someone would have brought out a box or pile of old stuff. These books look like they're on a proud display... as if their owner is moving to a new apartment that doesn't allow for popular YA novels, and they hope to find them a new home that appreciates these books just as much.

It is an odd thing.
