Hello, my friends! Warm days passed very quickly and there's so much I don't have time to show You. How much more beautiful and interesting places we could visit.
The cascade of chessboard hill is located on one of the natural slopes in the Park of Peterhof.
A fountain waterfall looks like a chess boards , on which the water flows and closes the entrance to the lower grotto. We can see only that such a curtain of water.
Ran 32 meters in the cascade, the water falls into the pool at the foot of the mountain.
Upper grotto closes the massive door, which is securely guarded by three fearsome dragon.
It's an old-fashioned pastime of our emperors. The idea of this fountain belonged to Peter the great. The dragons were originally made of wood and painted.(1737) . Later, in 1875, they were replaced with metal.
But ahead of a cold Russian winter and all here will be well protected from frost and snow. Next summer we will again be able to visit these nice places for walks.

Привет, мои друзья! Теплые дни пролетели очень быстро и я так много не успела Вам показать. Сколько ещё красивых и интересных мест мы смогли бы посетить.
Этот каскад шахматная гора расположен на одном из естественных склонов в парке Петергофа. Фонтан - водопад выглядит в виде шахматных досок , по которым стекает вода и закрывает вход в нижний грот. Мы можем увидеть лишь вот такой занавес из воды. Пробежав 32 метра по каскаду, вода попадает в этот бассейн у подножия горы. Верхний грот закрывает массивная дверь, которую надёжно охраняют три грозных дракона. Это старинная забава наших императоров. Идея этого фонтана принадлежала ещё Петру Первому. Драконы изначально были выполнены из дерева и раскрашены.(1737) . Уже позднее, в 1875, их заменили на металлические.
Но впереди холодная русская зима и всё здесь будет хорошо защищено от мороза и снега. Следующим летом мы снова сможем посещать эти приятные места для прогулок.
