There not poison. The Wikipedia info says that they just need washing then crushing and then they can be made into jelly or I presume jam. It's the seeds that can be the problem if eaten raw and in too large a quantity. Hope that makes sense.

... confusing... I think Pyrachantha in great quantity give poison... remember... the poison is not a particular subtance... but the dosage...

Yes the berries you showed are also known as rose hip and they are definitely edible. Thankyou for your posts it's been interesting looking up about the plants and learning about their fruits.
