One of the weirder things that I've experienced over the last couple of years has been adjusting my mode of operation to encourage models to have escorts.
My formal training is in cinematography. The majority of my professional career has been cinematography. When you're doing cinematography, you're in an environment of twenty to fifty to more people. You're never alone with anybody else. You get used to working twelve to fifty-two hours straight (no, I'm not exaggerating) lifting heavy equipment and making decisions that could cost thousands of dollars a minute.
Getting into photography as I have, there have been an abundance of stories of women who have been assaulted by photographers who don't like to have escorts around.
I can't fully sympathize. I've only been touched inappropriately at work once and it didn't traumatize me. I can empathize. I can also come at this issue from my position.
Look, I have a lot of photographer friends. I also have a lot of model friends. I'm saying this with absolute certainty - if you're a photographer who has a problem with your models having escorts, you're either a rapist or you're incompetent. Models, if the photographer won't let you have an escort, he either wants to rape you or he's incompetent.
If I can figure out how to coordinate three departments with a dozen people and create images, even in a sexually explicit or implied scene, without any problems or distractions, there's no reason why your photographer can't be alone with you and an escort with a camera and and a couple of lights without becoming distracted or having the quality of his work diminish.
I really don't care what you're doing. I don't care if you're doing a high fashion shoot, a lingerie shoot, a nude shoot, or actually doing porn. If the photographer doesn't want you to have an escort, you should turn down the shoot or you should bring a gun to the shoot.
