Beauty & Perseverance Through Struggles

While in the city of Buffalo walking around, I found a plant that reminded me of
"The Rose That Grew from Concrete" by the late Tupac Shakur

The Rose That Grew From Concrete

Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.

To me this represents life's struggles. Most plants aren't strong enough to withstand an obstacle like concrete, but beauty can arise from tough situations when you persevere through life's obstacles. These photos of a plant growing up through a rusty street sign holder reminded me of this beautiful poem by Tupac. I added a piece of broken glass toward the end of the shoot because I found it beautiful. Hope you enjoy it.

As always, I'm happy to have tips from some professional photographers about lighting angles and anything else I should work on. I'm happy with how these turned out, but I know I can do better.
