Aristotelian thinking about the nature of an object

According to Aristotle's thought, there are two kinds of recognition, namely sensory recognition and rational recognition.

With sensory recognition we can only acquire knowledge of the shape of the object (not the material) and only know the concrete. Meanwhile, our rational recognition will gain knowledge of the nature of an object.

The way to go to science is by the technique of abstraction. Abstraction means to release the properties or circumstances that by chance, so stay the nature or circumstances that by chance is the essence or essence of an object.
