resistance of conductor

in physics •  8 years ago  (edited)

Resistance of conductor increases with increase in temperature. When temperature of a resistor increases the particles vibrates with greater amplitude. As a result free electrons collides more frequently with particles, that increases the resistance of a conductor.

Resistance of a conductor depends on four factors:

  1. Length of the conductor
  2. Cross-sectional area of the conductor
  3. Temperature of the conductor
  4. Material of the conductor
