Piepie is an app where you can post photo stories which is similar to Facebook's My Day or Stories feature on Messenger app, and short videos similar to TikTok app. You can earn from likes received, and it pays Mithril Token. Piepie was formerly called Lit, just in case some old Lit members are wondering about its name.

I already wrote about Lit before, but there are a lot of changes. I admit, I was disappointed a lot of times, but I never left the up because I am enjoying it.

I joined Piepie (formerly Lit) on March 2018. It means I am one of those early adopters of the app. I kept posting, but I have no idea how to cash out in the app. By July 2018, I found out exchange and wallet feature through Mithril Vault was made available. To make sure of the app's legitimacy, I exchanged some Mithril Tokens on OKEX which went well. Eventually, Staking feature was added on Mithril which can give you higher earnings.

Mass suspension of accounts

Time came when mass suspension of accounts happened. They gave chances to those who promised not to abuse the system by fast liking of photos. That's quite confusing. If fast liking is not allowed, then they should have added a feature that hinders anyone to fast like photos.

Unfairness

Whether they admit it or not, there's unfairness in the platform. According to their rules, they don't condone bot-like behavior. Yes, that's acceptable. It's also in their rules that they don't allow nudity, and that's okay. However, they banned accounts with bot-like behavior, while accounts posting nude photos still exists.

I once raised up that issue on their Telegram channel, and Mithril Big Brother responded "The world is not fair". I responded "So we hope for fairness". His response "Maybe it's fair on the moon." Anyway, you can read the screenshot here.

Another issue arose when Binance held a voting competition which Mithril won. However, Binance team found out about the voting manipulation leading to disqualification of Mithril to get free listing on the major exchange.

Eventually, Mithril was listed on Binance, and it is even the first to join the Binance chain. Thus, Mithril migrated from Ethereum to Binance blockchain.

Decentralized

Piepie is not decentralized. They have strict rules. They likely control the algorithm. How can I say? Many people are really earning well. Until one day, the earnings dropped drastically despite the high level of staking. Actually, more than 50% of drop in earnings.

People are complaining why their earnings dropped on Telegram. Their response, there are many users already in the app which caused the drop. Is that so? Why is it sudden? For sure, a one day gap won't give so much increase of users causing the drop of earnings. Besides, a large percentage of users stopped posting after the earnings drop but earnings didn't go up.

When Piepie earnings dropped, another app which pays Mithril token Yeemos, surge of earnings was experienced. Hence, many Piepie users focused on Yeemos.

I still love Piepie

Despite all the disappointments, I still love Piepie. It is not buggy, and easy to use. The interface is undoubtedly nice. Did I earn a lot of tokens? In more than a year, I earned less than 1000 Mithril Tokens. I still love the app, and I wanted to see Mithril to the moon.
