“Why privacy and why another Zcash privacy coin”
Just for a simple explanation, because a fellow pirate asked today.
Most law abiding people would/should/could be worried about tracking of their data by companies, employers and state departments to name a few. These outfits all have ample reasons to spend time and money tracking your habits, none of which would really benefit you.
For zaddr transactions to be as private as possible, the entire pool of z tx’s needs to get mixed.
On privacy coins like Zcash, Verge and other optional Privacy Coins, where people don’t use this feature, it’s rather useless as opposed to PIRATE where all sends are forced z tx. The data can be correlated to t->z and z-> t transactions when done carelessly. Currently, Zcash is only about 7% shielded meaning your zcash private sends are only mixed with 7% of the other private sends.

Of all the Pirate coins on the chain, 99.99% are shielded.
The only time PIRATE is un-shielded is directly after mining. There are NO public send tx’s on the chain.
