If you are planning to buy a smartphone and find yourself hesitant between the new "Pixel 2" and "iPhone X", there are several advantages that you can choose between and take into account before making a decision.
If you prefer a large screen, the Pixel 2XL will be a good choice. Its screen size is up to 6 inches, the pixel 2 is 5 inches and the iPhone X stands at 5.8 inches.

Feel like apple is trying to take advantage of the 10th year anniversary by pricing in their phone at $1k. People know by now that they will likely change phones within 2-3years therefore not ideal to put so much into a phone. If I had to pick I would go with the Pixel 2.
