running out to pick up the things, pizza lunch laptop club and measuring bed foam?! ;)

i didn’t think that the parts that i needed to repair my headphones or get the car battery would arrive today, i thought it might bleed over until tomorrow but it turns out the hunch was right, after grabbing all the bits for a nice dinner tonight and the rest of the week we ended up in the pub for pizza and beer laptop club lunch.

the wonderful part of being digital nomad like about blogging is that you can literally pick up anywhere, fire up your laptop or mobile phone with your wireless keyboard and you are ready to drop the words on the page, it’s every digital workers ideal of freedom — no wonder those who are single travel to somewhere to chang mai for a reasonable cost of living while working clients that are in higher paying countries, it’s a no brainer.

i was feeling quite peckish once we hit town, i’d been wanting to test out the purchase of a m&s gift card using DASH which aside from the problem of the lady at the till having to enter it a million times and giving me a recipe and explaining how much was left on it was a straight forward experience.

one that i can now recommend to other people. for instance i can purchase a gift card for my daughter to be able to buy things in town when she’s with mum or friends — like a digital piggy bank that she can spend there. i think gift cards or the tokenisation of finances is going to snowball in the next few years and we will see this become more common place — crypto gifting.

The idea behind the purchase of this card was purely from a food and resources mindset, the idea that i can purchase 5 x £20 cards and give them out to the homeless really appeals to me and is something i’ll be doing in the months coming up.

breaking down that third wall between seller and purchaser is a big deal, I noted that you can only get cards from giftoff for m&s between £20 and £50 but if you need food at a pinch and you have crypto this is a way to do it for sure, worked flawlessly.

we probably shouldn’t do it today because rent is due at the weekend but we have been eyeing up some new sections of foam to fix our awkward bed situation, the foam quite frankly for the bed area in the van is kaput. we need a new solution, our next idea is to build up three blocks, cut them to size and frame them in, grab a new topper and give that a shot.

it may end up that we need a new topper for it or even some fancy mattress but right now we have work to do to insulate the van better, keeping the heat in and breezes out and find any places where the cold is getting in, february could be a cold month so it would be good to sort it, after all if we are both alert and get good sleep we put out good work.

feeling good for a monday that we covered this ground already today, tomorrow we can wind up to the start of feb on wednesday and execute on the content making, i’ve got a bunch of videos that i want to record and i wanted to get started on dtube and dlive with the new green screen, much work and course additions need to be added, i’d like to have at the very least fifty parts of my course, so that’s another 18 parts to add to the existing @teamvideo stuff.

you might have already noticed the row of buttons that i made above for the other accounts, i’ve still got to make others for other accounts but i could not fit anymore buttons in, i didn’t want to make a stupidly big double row but something subtle.

right time to make a move, the next bus is in an hour and we have yet to size up the foam as i write this, the next few hours we will be like mad people flitting back home before 5pm missing the rush hour, don’t ask me why i just like to fit things into a schedule, feels like i’m getting the most out of the day if we cram in and I’m set for the next few days for projects! :)
