The beauty and diversity of India remains unparalleled with any other country in the world. With its verdant mountains, dense forests, crystal clear sea beaches and deserts it houses it all. However, there are a few places where you are not allowed to pay a visit. Here are a few of them that we would love to go to, but cannot.
1. North Sentinel Island, Andaman
It is a small island which is covered with dense forests and is situated on the Bay of Bengal, and is a part of the group of Islands that make up the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. However, it is remote and cut off from all major settlements in Andaman. On this island live a tribe that are known as the Sentilese who live on their own and avoid any contact with the outside world. On the contrary explorers are met with hostility, and fishermen and research aircrafts who have strayed onto their territory have been killed, and thus it is no surprise that no one is allowed to visit here.
2. Bhangarh, Rajasthan
Bhangarh can be visited during the daytime, but as the sun sets no one is allowed to enter this ancient fort city. It is said that Bhangarh is one of the most haunted areas in India. A warning message by the Archaeological Survey of India has been placed at the city's entrance and legal action can be taken against potential prosecutors. So it is safe that you pay a visit only during daytime.
3. Islands of Lakshadweep
Permits are mandatory when you want to visit the Lakshadweep islands and foreign nationals are allowed to visit only a very of them which include Agatti, Kangaram and Bangaram. The islands, uninhibited by human activity with its dense forests and turquoise blue water is worth all the trouble.
4. Foreigners only Beaches in Goa and Puducherry
There are certain parts in the auroville beach in Puducherry that only foreigners that explore along with some beaches in Calangute and north eastern beaches in Goa. Foreigners are known to be reserved and do not feel comfortable in front of prying eyes and as a result such a step has been taken to make certain beaches a 'foreigners only' beach.
5. Nicobar Islands
The Nicobar Islands are literally untouched and has been declared as a world network of Biosphere reserves by UNESCO. There is a variety of flora and fauna that is particularly endemic in this region and care is taken is taken that they are protected and that a healthy population is maintained. Visiting the Nicobar Islands requires a permit and is pretty much limited to scientists and researchers only who can visit these islands because all possible effort has to be made in order to preserve the pristine beauty of this place.
the North Sentinel natives are interesting. I wonder how much some of them would enjoy food, clothing and medicine. Their culture obviously keeps them away and no doubt there are reasons for that, but the poor folks don't even know. I bring this up because there are natives in the Congo that may be similar in mind set, but do to contact, it is known that some of them do want better for themselves.
